Manmeet Kaur

  Hi,

I am Manmeet.

I’m excited to start this blog and tell you all about myself. This is my fifth semester at KPU. KPU has taught me a-lot, i have grown into a complete new person. I always love meeting new people and get to know them. Let's get started with the questions!

What am I majoring at KPU?

At KPU, I'm majoring in business management. In my sixth semester, I've thoroughly loved studying about company operations, effective leadership, and strategic decision-making. I decided on this course because I envision myself running or launching my own company in the future.

Why am I taking this course?

I'm taking this journalism foundations course to improve my communication abilities. This course will help me to improve my writing skills. I will learn about various key elements of journalism.

What am I hoping to learn from this course?

I want to improve my writing skills and learn how to organize various media content, how to be a good storyteller by giving catchy headlines and attracting the readers. I want to  learn the ethics of journalism and get to know about the real and unfiltered version of journalism.

What is the best place I have ever visited? Why?

The Lynn Valley in North Vancouver is among the most beautiful locations I've ever been to. It's such a serene location away from city.it also has a beautiful waterfall where people come and enjoy with their families. It's the kind of setting that lets you detach from stress and re-establish a connection with nature. It's ideal for a weekend reset with friends or a peaceful day out.

What do I like to do in my spare time?

In my free time, I love to cook. There’s something so relaxing about putting together a meal from scratch, especially when I’m trying out new recipes that i have no clue about. I usually cook Indian food, but I also like to experiment with international dishes. It’s my way of being creative and taking care of myself and others. I recently made garlic bread at home from scratch and it turned out amazing.

One thing i recommend to others? Why?

I strongly suggest the television series Friends if you haven't seen it yet. It's a charming, humorous, and perfectly comforting show. No matter how many times I watch it again, it never gets old since the characters are like real-life friends. Ideal for background noise when cooking or for a relaxing evening!

I appreciate you reading a little bit about me. This semester, I'm excited to read what other people have to say and grow with them!
